A note from our founder

At Malengo, our mission is to enable capable students from low-income backgrounds to pursue education abroad. Through financial support, mentorship, and a strong community, we help students unlock their full potential and create brighter futures for themselves and their families.

This work is deeply personal. I founded Malengo because I have seen firsthand how access to migration through education transforms lives—not just for individual students, but for entire communities. Since our launch, we’ve supported over 400 scholars in pursuing university degrees and vocational training in high-income countries, and we’re just getting started.

I invite you to explore our work, meet our scholars, and be part of this movement. Whether you’re a student, mentor, or supporter, your engagement helps us build a world where access to educational opportunities isn’t limited by geography or financial circumstances.

Our Programs

Uganda–Germany Program

In Uganda, those who hold Ugandan Secondary School Certificates (UACE) can apply for an English-speaking full Bachelor’s program at a German university with financial assistance available.

Kenya–Germany Program

In Kenya, individuals with Kenyan Secondary School Certificates can apply for admission to a vocational training program as a nurse or nurse assistant in Germany.

Francophone Program

This program is for French-speaking individuals looking to apply for higher education programs in Germany, offering financial support and guidance.

This program is currently not accepting applications.

Uganda–Germany Refugee Program

In Uganda, refugees with Ugandan Secondary School Certificates (UACE) can apply for English-speaking Bachelor’s programs in Germany with financial support provided.
