Be part of our mentorship program and gain intercultural experience!
We are always looking for volunteers to accompany our scholars on their journey! With an investment of just 2–5 hours per month, you can get to know one of our scholars, help them adjust to life in Germany, and become part of an engaging and fun community of mentors and students. You will gain intercultural communication, language, and organizational skills, and receive a certificate as an acknowledgment of your contribution.
Our mentorship should also be accessible for persons with low incomes, therefore we pay an allowance to our mentors.
Expectations

Regular Contact
In at least one monthly call of approximately 1-2 hours plus regular ad-hoc support via text, you check in with your mentee and talk about studying, working, and life in Germany in general. This call can be about personal or professional advice, feedback, and moral support. You will receive input from us on how you could structure these communications.

Online Research and Job Search Support
Sometimes it is easier for someone who has lived in Europe to understand how to find things online. Help our students to find out where to buy certain things, access services, and plan trips. Plus – help them support themselves and start building their careers by giving guidance on job search and application processes.

Navigating German Bureaucracy
Germany — the land of filling out forms! As a Malengo Mentor, you will provide some limited support in helping our students understand when and how to send which forms to ensure a successful integration into German culture!
